March 2019 marked three decades since the Exxon Valdex oil tanker struck Bligh Reef and released 11 million gallons of crude oil in Prince William Sound. A disaster that had widespread ramifications on the region that still impact the people and ecology of the area to this day. The Cordova Times published a special edition of the newspaper to reflect on the change, healing and hope that grew in the 30 years since of the tragedy.
